I am thinking of doing checking into this after maybe I get my Fissure Gauntlets... Maybe before, but first. What are the advantages of passing and about how long does it usually take? Keep in mind that there are over 53 pages and this site dosn't let you use the search all the time due to so many people on it.

There is no set time for the completion of the graduation tests. Some people do it in a week, others take months or never do it at all. As a graduate you have more oppurtunity to take customers and there are certain oppurtunities to graduates that are not open to students. These benefits are on top of those that are provided by just being in the academy. As a member of the academy you have access to the many builds and strategies that are on our forums, including maps, videos, and one on one instruction by officers and graduates. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

There have been a lot of people trying to imitate the LBS guild tag and scam people. Please make sure that you are actually talking to an LBS runner before getting runs. If in doubt, check the grad list here or on our site. Or you can ask an officer, also listed at the site.
Edit: I will add the new grads in a post tomorrow

Couldnt you have something customized by one of the officers or lady blue steel herself? To prove you are a graduate? (ofcourse that one could get sold on accident or someone could sell it...)

That is exactly what we do: the certificate of graduation is a customized forgerunner bow, and you see people advertise their possession of one in various threads on various forums and in game from time to time. It is a way you can know that the person you are paying in advance for a run is honest and able. That is really the whole point of the Academy: running is really only profitable and fun when it isn't filled with headaches trying to prevent scams or collect payments. The idea of the Academy was and is to prevent scamming on either side in the rendering of this important in game service.

Obviously, that would be a concern, but has not happened yet. There are people who have wanted my virtual autograph badly enough that they have paid some pretty amazing sums for swords and other items I have customized, but the ONLY people with customized forgerunners are graduates of the Academy.
The entire point of the Academy, from the initial application to the tuition to the time spent with other members of the Academy and the challenges of graduation are to prove that the graduates are both (1) highly skilled and (2) completely honest. If someone were to lie or steal while applying for or in the Academy, and we heard about it, we would immmediately investigate, delay the graduation, and ask the community for any evidence they have. If we were satisfied that there was anything unethical that occurred, the person would be immediately removed from the Academy, banned from the LBSRA.net website, removed from the guild if they had joined that as well, and any other measures we deemed appropriate such as reporting to Anet.
It is theoretically possible that someone could have a great reputation and "pretend" to be honest and sincere for the entire time they were in the Academy admission process and in the Academy itself, and then if they graduate "reveal their true selves" by selling the customized forgerunner bow. There would not be much of a market for it, though, as the greatest value is the referrals of premium business, the established associations, and the continued support and access to developments in the industry that would no longer be available to them. They would be blacklisted throughout the Academy, reported to Anet, announced in this thread and other places as a person not to trust, and the same would happen to whoever bought the forgerunner bow. It would be difficult to sell the item because the minute they tried people who saw the auction or heard about the offer of sale would inform me. Further more, it would be a bad deal for the seller (giving up a future significant source of premium income for an immediate gain that could never compare) and a bad deal for the buyer (getting a symbol of honesty and reputation, but get announced to the world as someone who obtained it fraudulently or improperly).
In short, if people want an autograph, ask for one on a different item than a forgerunner bow. If people want a forgerunner bow and a great reputation, there is only one way I know of getting that: earn it!

ah pretty stupid of me not to see that, after all, what scammer would go through 15 ecto, many hours of testing, practising, learning, just to sell one item for an insane amount of gold? Its not worth the time... and thats what scamming is all about... to save time, otherswise they would farm ^_^.
And what for those who lose their forgerunner on accident? (selling to merchant for example)

besides all of us in LBSRA are very responsible. It might have happened (losing your forgerunner) a few times, none that i know of, but it is a very uncommon thing.

I would like to point out that no matter HOW GOOD U ARE Lady Blue Steel you cannot run anyone to The Dragon's Lair as you can only achieve this through ascension and can only ascend by yourself. However, extreme props for your business, legal, and gaming sense combined in a truly unique manner. I would like to point out that R/Mos (with dodge, escape and 16 expertise) are actually faster runners.
